About HTCP

I don't know if I can say a whole lot more than what's already been said about HTCP on the home page. We are:

A net "company" that believes in free software (in both senses of the word!)
However, if you must to know the specifics...

We started a couple years ago when we decided it would be cool to have a company called HTC (Highly Textual Computer stuff).
We would make computer programs, computer graphics, etc. And we pretty much did that. At the time, I only knew QBasic and
a bit of Turbo Pascal. I met steevo and his friend, who created Nabosoft, at one of my favorite QBasic websites of all time,
which is on the links page www.qb4all.com. Nabosoft was making KMax 5.0, the greatest GUI they had ever made. In my opinion,
Kmax was nearly as good as GIMI, GIMI being better only because it was more popular and well-known, and therefore had more
programs written in it. It was kind of popular to write a GUI in QBasic, although most GUI's written in QBasic suck.
GIMI was the greatest ever, and KMax was a lot like it, but I think many features of it were better, particularly the
scripting language (I didn't understand GIMI's scripting language at all).

Anyways, at the same time I wanted to write a BASIC IDE and compiler called HTCBasic. And I asked for help making an IDE.
And Nabosoft helped me with that. Unfortunately I decided to stop that project, partly because of the FreeBasic project and partly because I
realized I wasn't skilled enough to create such a program completely on my own.

I have dropped several other promising projects. Yet aside from those there a couple of projects,
which I have not dropped. First, my OS project. I am writing an Operating System called JOS1. It is very
slow, especially when I have a website to update and schoolwork to do, but I am making some progress. The other project
is called FlexGUI. I wanted to make a GUI that would surpass KMax and even GIMI. I wanted to write it in Turbo Pascal,
which was at the time my favorite language (that was before I discovered C). Well, I have not done any work on that at all.
I am still planning to make a GUI called FlexGUI. Some day, if I ever finish JOS1, the GUI will be called FlexGUI.
Admittedly the purpose of Flex has changed- but it is still on my "eventual" project list.
I also decided to one day write a MMORPG, but first I need to get together a bunch of people online. And with limited
Internet access that is difficult, so for the time being I'm going to stick to JOS1.

About this website

I spent about four days taking this website from the old piece o' junk that it was to the nice-looking piece o' junk
that it is now. I use Evrsoft's 1st Page 2000 for the HTML editing. As for the nice-looking pictures,
I used a combination of GIMP and Microsoft Paint to put those together. It's taken a lot of time
and energy (but no money :-D. I have previewed this site in both Internet Explorer and Firefox,
created some interesting pictures, put together a simple non-JS navigation system, as well as a non-JS blog-like update
system, and made sure that most if not all pictures have alt text (I'm sure you'll find one or two pictures with no alt-text,
but hopefully most of you aren't using any old-fashioned browsers that don't support images anyways.

I also made a secret page (there's a prize :-D if you find it), and I spent quite a while making the members and downloads
pages with all the profile pics and screenshots that I'm sure you loved. I made my profile pic and Superspud made his, but
making the pictures fit into the page just right took some time. (BTW, spud made his profile pic using Anim8or).

Anyways, tell me if you don't like this website or if it looks weird on your non-standard browser; my e-mail is TheMysteriousStrangerFromMars AT yahoo DOT com.

Thanks for viewing this site, because without viewers this site would be pointless!
